Item Description

Artist signed portrait, oil on board (7" x 9.5" showing )
PETERS

Heavy Carved wood frame, original, Ornate Gold Gilt (17.5" wide x 19" tall x 3" deep)

A fabulous portrait done in 1800s

Titled Lady in Jewelry on back you can see that she has been sold at auction before.
She surely was someone to be reckoned with among the elite and titled in society.
But I don't have her name.
The artist has signed the painting, and it looks to me like "C or G PETERS", perhaps - something similar, and I have no information on an artist by that name. I have had her for over 20 Years now safely stored in a thick quilted cotton tote.

Perhaps you'll recognize it and email to tell me more, experts. Circa 1800-70, the woman is fairly regal in all ways, isn't she.

A lovely painting that will work with miniatures, or with full sized paintings in group or above the mantel, perhaps?

Very good to excellent condition without any damage. This is an original work of art, not a print. Painted in oil on board in the original old carved frame. Ready to hang and enjoy.
